The Story Behind the Song
“Light Up Aurora” was inspired by the heart behind Serve Aurora and the kind of ministry that does not just talk about faith, but puts it into motion. As I read through their story, what stood out to me was their commitment to serving real people in real ways, right where they are. Serve Aurora began as Nieves Ministries with a simple conviction to serve the city with faith in action, and that heart still comes through strongly in everything they do. Their mission blends practical outreach, community safety, resource support, and a deep respect for the culture and dignity of the people they serve.
This song was written as an upbeat anthem of hope, action, and encouragement. I wanted it to feel joyful, bold, and alive, like people stepping into the streets with purpose, love, and the light of God. Serve Aurora’s work includes community outreach, a Mobile Resource Center, security-focused services, and efforts that celebrate and uplift Puerto Rican culture in Aurora. That mix of compassion, strength, and community pride helped shape the whole feel of the song.
What I love most is that their story is not just about programs. It is about people. It is about showing up, serving with dignity, protecting others, and building something that brings hope to the city. “Light Up Aurora” is my musical tribute to that kind of faith in action and to the people who are making a difference one act of service at a time.
